The End

Well, that's about it for pictures. Thank you for following our trip!
Nicole

It's the Terminator!

I forgot about this one! This is at the Glen Ellyn Football Days, the day after the museum. It was over a hundred degrees and humid . . . comes in close second to the Detriot Air Show a couple of years ago.

This is at the restaurant we went to after the museum.

And more sites

More sites

David and James are pointing at sites on that map that we saw on our trip.

The Blues Brothers!

This was a sign in Joliet. Joliet is part of Route 66, so we thought it was a fitting end to our trip.

Performance at the Joliet Museum. The "official" end of the tour.

2 days later, back in Illinois. This was_taken at the Route 66 museum in Joliet, IL

We met up with Anna's old drum teacher, Daryl, in Santa Monica. He works for Yamaha now!

San Diego. The weather was beautiful!

Gig #9 - Naval Base in San Diego

Performance at the Naval Exchange in the Navy Base.

We passed a bunch of old ships on the way to the Naval Base. They were really sweet!

Seals! They do actually make barking noises.

David failing at paddleboard. Just kidding, David. You were okay.

Heehee. Raising the bar. This is from the roof of David's relatives' house.

Yacht!!!!!!!

Long Beach VA Hospital

Gig #8. Long Beach, CA!

World's Largest Thermometer!

Thanks for the shirts!

Mmmm, big plastic burger.

Number 7!

This was all of the impersonators - Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Elvis, and Cab Calloway. Also, the two in the middle were part of the dance troupe. The one on the right (in the middle) was Fern Jennings, our contact at the VFW. She was very appreciative and even gave us a book of letters that her husband wrote to his mother during World War II. It was really great to be part of something like this!

Cab Calloway and Judy Garland impersonators

This is us with the Judy Garland impersonator.

This was us trying to figure out if we could pull off "Summertime". I haven't played that in years. Actually, I'm not exactly sure why not because it's a good song . . .

Elvis!! And the Happy Hoofers. This is at the VFW Post in Las Vegas

This was a great hotel!

Nice!

There's an ipod jack in the wall directly to the left of this picture. I got an amazing view from that window at night!

Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice. But the room was awesome!

Sweet

Really awesome shot! I'm sooooo tired though . . .

AAAAHHHH!!!! Scary giant ants!!!

Inside the Bellagio. The lobby was absolutely beautiful!

I'm pretty sure that's James at the bottom of this picture.

You know you're at the Hard Rock Hotel when the chandelier is made out of saxophones . . .

Caesar's Palace

Las Vegas, baby!

Aaaah, only in Vegas.

How awesome is that??!?!!?!

Hoover Dam! It really was amazing.

And I am reminded that life is worth the effort. Absolutely amazing sunset out here.

This is as close as we got to the Grand Canyon, unfortunately. It's still pretty awesome from the outside though!
David tried something called "car surfing". Which was really just him standing in the back of the van and falling down when we went over bumps in the road.
Cow crossing! These cows were crossing the road on the way to the Grand Canyon.

I almost forgot the fried rattlesnake! David and James tried this as an appetizer. They said it was okay, but I didn't have the stomach for it.

On the way to the Grand Canyon. I think this is an absolutely beautiful shot.
